EFT was developed by Gary Craig as an outgrowth
of Thought Field Therapy which was developed by Dr. Roger Callahan, Ph.D.
Once out of the office you can test the treatment in the
“real world”. If one experiences a return of a symptom (emotion, pain, habit, etc) it only indicates that another element or dimension
is surfacing. All one need do is tap along the same energy meridians while focused on the new aspect, much like peeling layers from
an onion.
EFT is very safe to use and rarely has any unwanted side effects. If an intense emotion surfaces EFT will alleviate the
feeling (if performed while focused specifically on the issue, pain, feeling, memory). The mistake most novice EFT users make is they
are not specific but focus too broadly or generally on an issue.
A phenomenon called Psychological Reversal may inhibit EFT effectiveness.
Psychological Reversal can be corrected and one may need to schedule a few sessions to help get to the bottom of the reversal that
is occurring.
Another reason that EFT may not seem to be working is Toxicity. Foods and beverages including caffeine, tea, refined
sugar, wheat and corn products, and alcohol may be interfering with EFTs effectiveness. Other toxic substance or environments such
as tobacco, body sprays, colognes, drugs, and emotional negativity can limit the effectiveness of EFT. The elimination of foods and
beverages as well as removing oneself from the room, taking a water only shower will remove the toxins causing the problem so that
EFT will be most effective.
The benefits of EFT are many. You will find that you are better able to deal with previously stressful situations and emotions with more ease. Your health will improve by reduced pain, improved sleep hygiene, and overall improved well-being. EFT is used for improved sports performance and endurance. Your personal and professional relationships and lives will greatly improve. The quality of your personal and spiritual growth process will be greatly improved. Self-esteem and confidence will soar.
